GBS features in Professional Manager Magazine

Professional Manager Magazine featured GBS in their March edition for our ongoing work with the
Museum of London.

This is an excellent example of how we work with our clients to fulfill their
organisational needs.

As a highly professional and academic organisation, with most employees highly qualified in their specialist fields, the Museum was keen to introduce a programme leading to nationally recognised qualifications for the management population. The Chartered Management Institute was selected as the awarding body.

In support of this decision the Museum required a training partner that had the right experience, credentials and business knowledge. Moreover the trainers would need to be sympathetic to the Museum’s culture to ensure the overall success of the programme. After a number of external training suppliers were contacted, meetings held, proposals written and presentations made, the contract was awarded to GBS Corporate Training.

GBS worked in close partnership with key stakeholders to decide which qualification levels would be most suitable for the Museum’s managers and which elements were to be included to customise the content addressing specific needs and ensuring ‘best practice’.

Delegates are supported by trainers providing guidance over the telephone and by email whilst working through assignments. There are regular ‘surgeries’ held at the Museum during which delegates can have one-to-one sessions with the trainer to discuss real-life management problems.

The first two cohorts (25 people) have successfully completed their training and are now on course to obtain their qualification. Cohort 3 is well underway with cohort 4 scheduled to start in June 2010
