Assertiveness at Work

Course Overview

How often do find ourselves saying “yes” when we meant to say “no”, or remained silent when we disagreed with something we heard in a meeting, or perhaps found ourselves agreeing to do something in the full knowledge that it would pile even more pressure onto our already busy day? Sometimes, when the pressure mounts it is easy to default into either an aggressive manner, or perhaps when weary, we default into a submissive manner and cave in, anything for an easy life.

Perhaps more often than we care to admit, neither are ideal positions for anyone, particularly in a work environment.

Assertiveness is a key factor in encouraging straightforward communication and reducing misunderstanding and the danger of unproductive conflict. It caters both for those who want to be more assertive as well as those who want to be less aggressive. The assertive person will achieve their own aims whilst, at the same time, taking full account of the feelings of others.

This Assertiveness workshop is a must for anyone in business who wants to learn how to communicate in an assertive way, and achieve positive outcomes, as opposed to living with the consequences, regardless of the situation. It is also a must for anyone who wants to improve their overall communication style, and increase their personal credibility and gravitas, both key attributes in order to be able to successfully influence others.

Please note, this course can be delivered as virtual instructor led training (VILT), face to face, or it can be delivered with a blend of both formats. We will customise the content and duration in line with your learning and development requirements.
