Introduction to Cyber Security

Course Overview

People having the flexibility to work from home is becoming increasingly common. For the majority of employees, this is a new experience and requires different ways of working in terms of both approach and execution. It also requires a mindset that minimises risks to clients and to the business itself – the most critical risk being how to keep their systems and the information they hold safe from cyber criminals.

Our Introduction to Cyber Security webinar is aimed at all staff so that they can understand the risks, controls and compliance requirements which relate to data protection and cyber security. After completing the session, you will have an understanding of the basic requirements of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The focus will be on the threats posed to those who work remotely to ensure that you safeguard yourself and the business from cybersecurity threats.

In partnership with CyberPro, this webinar is delivered by Beverley McGowen (CEO and founder of CyberPro Security Services and Training and The Specialists Hub). Beverley has built and led several privacy, security, IT and GRC teams and programmes within the Financial Services and Banking Sector, holding leadership roles at Citigroup, Cooperative Bank and Royal London Group. Beverley was also the Head of Data Governance and the Group Information Security Lead for Royal London Group, delivering the GDPR and Security Programmes.
