Introduction to Data Protection and GDPR

Course Overview

With so many employees working from home and using various systems and platforms on home networks and environments, the need for training in keeping these systems, and the information they hold, safe and confidential is more important than ever.

Our Introduction to Data Protection and GDPR webinar is for employees who are responsible for data protection practices within an organisation. It introduces the main concepts and principles of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

By participating in this webinar, you will become secure in accessing, monitoring and processing information. You will also be equipped to handle a data breach should one occur, and take the necessary steps to reduce any further risks.

After you have completed the webinar you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the data protection law, as well as an understanding of the practical implications of GDPR on businesses.

In partnership with CyberPro, this webinar is delivered by Beverley McGowen (CEO and founder of CyberPro Security Services and Training and The Specialists Hub). Beverley has built and led several privacy, security, IT and GRC teams and programmes within the Financial Services and Banking Sector, holding leadership roles at Citigroup, Cooperative Bank and Royal London Group. Beverley was also the Head of Data Governance and the Group Information Security Lead for Royal London Group, delivering the GDPR and Security Programmes.
