Handling Discipline and Grievance

Course Overview

Dealing with difficult staff is a problem that most Managers have to face. It rarely goes away without intervention and often a disciplinary review is necessary and needs to be handled correctly. Feeling confident in how to handle these issues is really important, and knowing before the situation arises is essential, to ensure the manager remains at all times compliant and within the law.

Managers need to question the member of staff carefully to obtain all of the facts and to record their findings in full. They will then need to understand the legal implications of words and actions.

The GBS Handling Discipline and Grievance course is aimed at Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors with responsibility for handling discipline and grievance issues. This course will also look at the worst case scenario, the Industrial Tribunal, to reinforce the importance of keeping accurate records.
