Understanding the principles of inclusive leadership is essential in today’s workplace. Inclusive leaders drive fairer thinking and respect across an organisation. They create a sense of ‘belonging’ regardless of background and cultural differences, so that everyone feels respected and their ideas are valued. Being an inclusive leader drives more creativity and innovation. Fresh perspectives are welcomed and employees are happier, more engaged and have ambition to achieve more. Being an inclusive leader is about creating a psychologically safe space where everyone can feel they are able to speak their minds without fear of negative repercussions. As inclusive leaders, it is imperative for us to understand that if we do not consciously include people, we will inevitably exclude them. This must be a conscious and mindful act and does not just happen organically. This highly participative, facilitated workshop is now emerging to be critical to business growth as more diverse groups leads to more creative thinking and fresh perspectives which can provide the competitive advantage.
