According to the CMI ‘2017 Annual Future Forecast’, the majority of UK Managers are pessimistic about the UK’s economic prospects for 2017. 75% of Managers surveyed felt that investing in skills is more important now than ever, as the UK prepares to leave the EU.
The good news is that Managers remain positive about the future of their businesses. However, HR managers surveyed in the CIPD’s ‘Winter HR Outlook 2016-17’ believe that Leaders in their organisations do not have all the skills and behaviours needed to get the best from their people.
The survey revealed that Manager’s financial, technical and operational competencies were high, but leaders were deemed ineffective at performance management, people management and developing people.
