Who are these qualifications for?

This qualification is designed for new and aspiring team leaders to get an in-depth introduction to the role and its responsibilities. This course is a nationally recognised qualification and is an ideal platform when starting your management career.

You will study mandatory units which focus on the core skills needed to motivate a team so that you are able to influence them effectively. This course develops the skills you need to plan, allocate and monitor work effectively. Practical tools and techniques will also develop your leadership qualities so that you can get the most out of your team. During the course we work with you and your employer to find the best fit from a broad range of optional units. These units range from communication skills to business improvement techniques and includes units from Level 3 qualifications, to help you progress in your career and in formal professional training.


Progression pathway

Successful learners may progress to a range of qualifications including the following:

  • ILM Level 3 Award or Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • ILM Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management

Total time required for the qualification

150 hours


Structure

There are 3 unit groups with at least 1 hour of induction and at least 2 hours of tutorial support. Unit 1 has 3 mandatory units and a choice of elective units from groups 2 and 3. Learners must attain a minimum of 15 credits (max 7 credits from Group 3).
